Shutterfly Classroom Sites
Our teachers invite parents of same class to take part in a shared on-line Shutterfly Site. Parents use passwords (which they create) to establish secure access to the account. The Classroom Shutterfly Sites serve as a communication tool to consolidate information in one convenient location. There parents will find teacher blogs about weekly activities; posts about the progression of concept-building skills, and our lesson plans. A monthly calendar not only provides dates/times of daily activities, but also sends e-mail reminders “the day before” of recurring specials … such as “Have your child bring his/her show-and-tell tomorrow for letter P” or “Remember child’s lunchbox tomorrow for Lunch Bunch Day!”
At WMS, we value parent involvement because it greatly enhances the learning opportunities for children. Parents and grandparents are encouraged to share their special talents, and to check their Classroom Shutterfly Site often for opportunities to participate. Parents may sign-up right on Site to bring in special snacks, or volunteer for class fieldtrips (K5), room activities, school fundraisers, and MORE! Perhaps what WMS families enjoy most about their Shutterfly Site is the way it allows them to “take a peek” into their child’s classroom activities by viewing photographs posted to albums throughout the school year.
